People who own parrots need to have a high tolerance for noise. =) My biggest issues were with the biting, so I wrote this article. https://writers.work/share/-LMwVky4aHjME-6sN7iGAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17508245028556901118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7070053671376569995.post-79174682797474185992018-03-20T17:41:10.616-07:002018-03-20T17:41:10.616-07:00What Is your opinion between a caique and a Timneh...What Is your opinion between a caique and a Timneh Grey? I have two kids a girl 6 and a boy 7. I have always wanted a Timneh Grey... but now I am wondering if a caique would fit in better with our family. I am at home all day while they are at school. I would still recommend looking into doing clicker training or some trick training with Lucy and your new bird.
http://www.clickertraining.com/node/68 is some more information, with a link to a great yahoo group at the bottom. I taught myself by reading their files.

It's amazing how this increases the bond with your parrots, and they absolutely love it. Your kids can get involved in teaching the birds tricks, too! I think that having parrots learn this kind of structure when they're young helps them better transition into adults!

Good luck with your new bird -- I'll be watching your blog for updates!Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06645791926538907697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7070053671376569995.post-65791465495370043992008-03-31T12:16:00.000-07:002008-03-31T12:16:00.000-07:00Thanks SO much for your input! I think in the future when the kids are bigger and the dogs are used to being around birds then a Caique would be great for us! But for right now I think we need something a little more mellow. We have decided to get a second Pionus & put down a deposit on a White Capped baby. I think a Caique might have driven our Lucy nuts - she such a mellow little sweetie. Hopefully another Pionus will be more her speed.Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04549433838794370673noreply@blogger.com
