I was up at the rescue yesterday. Rocky was sitting on the lap of one of the volunteers when I pulled up. I'm not sure if he knew the sound of my car, or if he could see me through the distant window from the volunteer's lap, but I was sitting inside my car, window rolled down, when I suddenly heard that most distinctive of scream!
He saw me/knew I was there and started screaming shortly after I pulled in. As soon as I entered the room, he calmed down and started talking, singing, etc.
He seemed really happy to see me, and we went through his repertoire of songs, clicks, clucks, etc. When I went near him, he did threaten to bite me, but I believe that overall he was happy to see me.
He has been quite well-behaved at the rescue, stepping up for everyone (but me.) I am hopeful that we will find a permanent home for him soon, though he doesn't seem to mind being at the rescue right now. There is certainly a lot of activity for him to watch, and he is kept well-stocked in toys!

ahhhhh Rocky!! Good he's happy!
Good to see Rocky! He's my favourite after Mabel!
He looks great!!
I have never seen one bird with that many toys! It took me awhile to find Rocky! LOL!
we miss you Mary
I hope Rocky remembers you happily for a long, long time.
You know that I also was forced to move into a smaller apartment and thus was forced to make a decision about my flock. I re homed 2 of my birds , almost 4 but could not bear to do so at that time . and now I am glad I did not rehome Giggles and Icarus . My Home has become so much more harmonious with the 7 of us that I wonder why I didnot do it sooner . Tho I know very well I loved both Linus and Charlie . I have found that I had to be very guarded all of the time with Linus and many of the bird fights were started by Charlie. Some requiring a quick trip to the vet .
Now I can let all the birds out at once and they do not feel a need to be on me all the time . They mich rather fly to my shoulder , say pretty bird , nibble on my ear then fly off to scrounge for treats they tossed on the floor earlier.
We all have a much more relaxed outlook on things now . I even pick a bird that will go with me for a trip to the store (PET) .
