Grooming help needed

Max, who is normally a meticulous groomer, let herself go a bit earlier this week.

In this first picture, you can see one of her wing feathers is upside down. It fell out shortly after I snapped this (she's going through a mini molt right now).
This picture is a little blurry, but she had fixed the problem before I could get a better shot. She must have been preening her rope perch/toy in the morning after she awoke but before I got her out of her cage, as I found her with a piece of string stuck in her beak:

Ooh, I've heard that strings getting in beak cracks are a real problem for greys. Do you take her to the vet to have them use a Dremmel on her beak? Or does the crack stay the same size?

Audrey's beak used to get really flaky back in New England. I was very worried about it for awhile. Fortunately, CA is humid enough that it's not a problem here.

We haven't had a huge issue here with the greys. Max has occasionally gotten strings caught, but she always gets them out within minutes. It seems like it's more of a fluke thing.

We do have to Dremel Calypso's (caique) beak occasionally, but Thomas just does that. As long as Calypso chews up wood, this isn't necessary, but sometimes he goes through lazy stretches!
