Everybody wanted to shower yesterday, so here's what our shower ledge looked like. Daphne (budgie) can't be in the bathroom with us because it gets too hot and steamy for her and she starts breathing heavily. Usually, I'll only take 2-3 parrots in with me, but everyone was begging and I just couldn't say no.
From left to right: Rocky, Beeps, Max, Calypso. This image of tranquility lasted for less than a minute, as everyone kept bothering everyone else, so pretty soon there were shampoo bottles creating 4 separate spaces. I did not get a picture of that as my camera was not in the shower with me!
Thomas and I have been making en effort lately to do what we can to help the environment: among other things, buying locally, walking/riding bikes whenever possible, recycling, etc. It looks like Max has decided to join in on the fun!
Rocky destroys 2X4 slices at an amazing pace. We keep several baskets of wood pieces around our house, so that when he feels the urge to chew, he walks over and grabs a piece of acceptable wood, instead of chewing on our fishtank stand or anything else. This also means that we sweep at least twice a day (and remember, sweeping is treacherous with Beeps around) and we still have little wood chips all over our house (you can see them in the background of this picture).
Over the weekend, Max has decided that she likes to chew up Rocky's chips into even smaller chips, thereby recycling his toy leftovers. When she saw Rocky destroying a new 2X4 slice, she'd fly down to the floor and grap up his newly created schnibbles. It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but she is chewing on a chip here.
Finally, the parrots are so excited that the Philadelphia Phillies have made the playoffs! We'd pretty much written off their chances for the year; but who knew the Mets could implode in such spectacular fashion? Playoff baseball is so exciting; even moreso when it involves a favorite team that tends to not make postseason play!

That is too cute! 4 parrots in a row. You must have had your hands full!
Jazzy took a shower this morning and after her shower she likes to sit up on the shower curtain rail.
Max can't go in the actual shower with me because her temperature preference is way too cold for me! But she likes hanging out on top and feeling the steam.
Jazzy is just absolutely adorable!!!
Nice Blog. I can relate to the Bird-Bottle-Bird-Bottle-Bird line up every morning at shower time. I have a Dove and a Cockatiel and Budgie who scream down the hall and into the bathroom as soon as they hear the shower doors rattling and the water being turned on :>

Thanks for the comment! Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one doing these things that seem so strange, so it's good to know I have company!
It sounds like you have a nice mix of birds -- they are all among my favorites!
I, too, love the first "line-up" shot! Very cute!
