I went out for a run this morning, and when I came home, placed my chapstick and key on the counter. I left Rocky alone in the kitchen for a few minutes, and found that he had taken my key AND my chapstick and thrown them into the garbage we keep next to the counter. Here he is, looking at my stuff he threw away! Luckily I had recently changed the bag and my stuff didn't get dirty.
The rest of today's entry is full of videos. I was watching Max and the caiques eat their grapes, and I was struck at how differently they eat!
Max eats the most similar to what I would consider a "normal" parrot:
Calypso likes to first lick as much juice out as possible (by the way, that's Rocky screaming in the background because he doesn't really like grapes):
Beeps tries to not use his foot to eat as much as possible. Sometimes he wants us to hold whatever we're giving him, but we're not THAT accommodating!:
And then there's Rocky. He wasn't interested in the grape. When I had my back to him, filming the rest of the birds, he wandered over to where I had placed the apple I was planning on eating for breakfast. He always gets a slice, but apparently he decided to take matters into his own hands! He didn't eat too much, and I was able to salvage my breakfast!:

They are so cute!
I love the sound of crunch crunch that parrots often make when they eat. Jazzy loves apples too, and they make a neat sound when she eats them. :)
That's how I discovered Rocky was eating my apple! I was filming the others and then I heard that tell tale sound! (I love it, too!!!)
Max (my grey) refuses to eat apples. I have been trying for 5 1/2 years now, several times a week. Lately I've been giving her apples with a bit of nut butter on it -- she licks off the nut butter and throws down the apple.
Have a fantastic weekend!!!
Hooray! I can't believe we didn't find you sooner! So good to see more birds in blogs!
Your caique friend is adorable!
We just added a link to your blog from ours... I hope that's okay!

I added a link back to you -- your blog looks fascinating and I can't wait until I have a few moments to check it out!
