Hugs!

Beeps, aka Babycake, aka Mr. Hormone is having a rough time lately. More and more things are triggering him, resulting in him launching attacks at us. New triggers include stretching so that our hands are on our neck, reading magazines in the kitchen (previously it was only reading magazines on the couch that was a trigger), and touching plastic food storage containers.

Poor guy! He's had to spend a bit more time in his cage than usual, where he shows us his rage by crunching all of his food into tiny pieces (but not eating it) and pulling himself along the bottom of his cage while on his back. I'm trying to get that one on video! He does calm down while confined like this, so we sometimes will catch him, give him a hug, and then he's back to normal.

We're good at avoiding his attacks, so no one has gotten bit, despite Beeps's best efforts.

Poor baby. It must be hard to have such strong hormones and no mate. But he gets hugs so I'm sure that makes up for a lot.

Aww poor guy! I have a caique too and he hasn't quite reached "hormone" levels yet (he's about a year and a half) but I hear a lot of caiques seem to go into wild scary hormone mode. does your other caique have hormone issues too?
