Monday tidbits

I'd like to start this month's first entry off with a picture of Beeps, as I barely talk about him on the blog. I'm not sure why that is, though it could have something to do with the fact that he doesn't really like to get his picture taken. He has been so incredibly adorable and sweet lately; a real joy to be around. I know I shouldn't have favorites, but I kind of do, and it's Beeps. (Though if you ask me at a different time, I may say a different parrot!) I find myself asking him several times a day how it is even possible for him to be so wonderful!************************
Max, patiently waiting for some head pets:

Rocky and Stella were not so patient in their demands on Thomas's time, so they ended up on his lap:

I had set some home-brewed beer by the door so I'd remember to bring it with me to give to a friend. Stella loves beer bottles, so immediately flew over to check these out:*************************
Her new morning routine includes thawed blueberries. Thomas now puts them in a separate bowl for her:*************************
We were up at the rescue this past weekend. As much as Thomas loves the birds we have, I think he is quite sad that we don't have a large macaw at home. He was trying to convince me to foster a certain blue and gold macaw. I said no, citing the large size difference between this large macaw and our medium-sized birds. It would be very easy for any of them to lose a beak or foot, so we have to stick with the smaller guys and he'll have to content himself with playing with them at the rescue:
(Obviously, this is a greenwing macaw, not the blue and gold I referenced above -- this guy is about 10 years older than me.) Also, and let me repeat this again, we are at our pet limit -- Thomas needs to remember that!

*************************
Quick running news since I've been writing about that a lot lately. Thomas and I ran a 15K this past weekend, and we both set PRs! 2010 has been an amazing running year -- I hope that continues into 2011!
